Silent Hill 2 will not be a PS5 exclusive indefinitely. Sony has set a deadline

Sony Interactive Entertainment in collaboration with Konami has secured console exclusivity for Silent Hill 2 from Bloober Team. The game will be released on PlayStation 5 and PC, and later may appear on other platforms.

In the end of a recent trailer, it is mentioned that Silent Hill 2 may well appear on Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch after October 10, 2025. This means that those who want to play on platforms other than PC and PS5 will have to wait at least a year and two days.

In social networks, it can be noticed that many gamers do not like this, and they assume that such a decision may have a negative impact on sales, as it is no secret that the number of copies sold can influence what Konami will do with the brand in the future.

It is worth noting that the original for the first Xbox also came out later: in the USA it started in December 2001, and in Europe and Japan - in 2002. Owners of Microsoft consoles from Japan got the port earlier: the release took place in February 2002, and in Europe - in October 2002. PC gamers had to wait even longer for their version - until 2003.
